Funding to develop CFI methodologies now open

The Australian Government is calling for Expressions of Interest for grants funding to develop carbon farming methods. Carbon estimation methodologies are needed before landholders can undertake projects and start earning carbon credits under the Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI).

The Methodology Development Program provides funding to support projects that develop CFI methodologies, including measurement techniques and models.

The Research and Development stream of the Indigenous Carbon Farming Fund will support the development of low-cost methodologies likely to have high Indigenous participation and create real and lasting opportunities for Indigenous Australians.

Applications close on 4 October 2012.
